That has been the most activity so far this month.  However, more excitement planned for later this month - as in, the last day of the month.  That’s right, on Thursday, July 31st I will be flying out to Virginia to visit with family.  Pretty exciting stuff - don’t think I’ve been back east for like 28 years! 

So, yeah, I’ll be gone as of Thursday, July 31st and flying home Tuesday, August 5th.  I plan on taking lots of pictures, will see if any turn out worth posting.  If you need to get a hold of me, I’ll have my phone with me (and hopefully will have service), and I should have access to email (that’s if I have phone service).   I’ll touch base with everyone as soon as I get back!

Today is the last day of the month of June, and we are finally getting some decent weather around here!  Took long enough.  June started off with the coolest month of June we have had in like 180 years or something.  I think we were at least a week into the month and we still had only reached 60° like twenty times this year.  Brrr!  However, this past weekend, we have had like four days in a row of 80+ degree temperatures, so needless to say, my condo is staying way overheated, with the temperature inside here being just as warm as it is outside!  That’s so not right.

I have made progress with my trip planning for the end of July.  That’s right, I will be headed back east for a family reunion type vacation as of July 31st.  My dad will be flying out before me and staying longer, but I will be headed to Virginia for a long weekend to see everyone.  Still very bummed that my brother won’t be able to attend, but with airline prices triple that of a year ago, it’s not surprising.  Fortunately, my IRS economic stimulus package refund check will cover the trip. 

 That’s about all for this update - I’ve seen all the latest movies, pretty much, so I won’t bore you with those details.  I’ll check in probably after the Fourth of July weekend and let you know how that went.  Later!  ~Jeff

Let’s see, what have I been up to since we last spoke? I’m gonna have to say not much. Just got home from seeing the latest Indiana Jones movie, which wasn’t too bad. Last week I saw Chronicles of Narnia, which was also just okay. Guess I’m not that big a fan of sequels, huh? Did I mention before that I saw Iron Man? Been quite the movie month for me lately, I reckon.

Slowly but surely starting to have some Summer like weather around here. Hopefully once June arrives, the nice weather will be more permanent for a couple of months. I won’t hold my breath, though.  ~Jeff

For example, look at this picture of my meal.  Notice anything missing?  Of course you do - no margarita!!  Argh. How is that even possible??  I go in, find an empty seat (not too difficult) and the waiter asked if he could get me anything.  Sure, a margarita, I say.  I mean, after all, isn’t that what you’re supposed to say on the fifth of May?  He is sorry to inform me that no he cannot get me a beverage of the like, as the restaurant has not yet received their renewed liquor license, but I’m welcome to have some water or Coke®.  Dude, that is so not very welcome!

Fortunately for me, I have all the required ingredients waiting at home to mark this very important day in history in the proper manner.  :-)  ~Jeff

In typical Seattle fashion, it is raining today, but that shouldn’t damper the mood too much.  Although, Eight Belles being euthanized on the track after running second in the Derby was certainly a bummer.

Basically, it’s a simple non-fat frozen yogurt place.  The frozen yogurt comes in two flavours - plain and green tea.  I tried the green tea flavour and it was yummy.  It also costs a dollar more per each servings size (6oz, 8oz or 12oz).  The plain variety costs $2.50 for small (6oz); $3.50 for 8oz and $4.50 for the large (12oz) size. 

You can add toppings to mix in with your yogurt, such as fruit and stuff, but I think in the future I’ll stick to adding toppings only if I get the plain yogurt.  I did try adding blueberries and banana slices to my green tea flavour, and while the fruit was amazingly fresh, it distracted from how good the green tea flavoured frozen yogurt really is.

Still, overall a good experience, glad I finally tried them.  Which felt weird, since they are located one store away from Jamba Juice®, which I normally frequent on a regular basis - hope they didn’t see me sneaking by! ~Jeff

I think it’s finally tulip season around here - is it where you are? 

All I know is, something is definitely up, because I’m starting to wake up with headaches again and I think that usually means it’s Flonase® time again.  We’ll see if that does the trick, as I just remembered to renew my prescription recently - just in time, perhaps.

I also need to go pick up a new fish.  It’s been almost ten years since I’ve gone longer than a week or two without at least one fish to keep me company.  I’ll see if I have time to do that this weekend. :)  ~Jeff

 Also ended up doing the usual video game marathon, this episode featured Wii Bowling and Rock Band on the Xbox 360.  Some of my friend’s neighbours joined in on the festivities, which ended with drinks and pizza and plenty of discussion about super hot sauce experiences that did not all end up so well.  Gotta love those habanero peppers.

I think on Sunday of this weekend I will go see the movie “Forbidden Kingdom” starring Jet Li and Jackie Chan.  Looks to be an action-filled movie with great cinematography.  And the reviews aren’t too bad from what I hear.

 Also, sad to say this morning started with saying good-bye to our friend for the past year and a half, Pez Azul.  Rest in peace, good buddy. ~Jeff

I am excited to try and keep this new version updated, however, as I will be able to do some mobile blogging - as in, from my phone, no matter where I might be!  Hopefully it will allow for easy use of uploading images to the blog posts, as well.  That might help things a bit.

And heck, I’ll probably get crazy and allow people to leave comments after each post, as well.  Scary.  The deal with leaving comments is, you will need to list a name and email address (which will not be revealed) and your first comment will have to be approved before it will show up.  But after that first time, comments should show up as soon as you hit enter.
