Happy Cinco de Mayo! Did everyone go eat yummy Mexican food tonight? I did. Although, I did have to wonder why the restaurant seemed pretty barren for such a normally festive day. Didn’t take me long to figure out why, though.
For example, look at this picture of my meal. Notice anything missing? Of course you do - no margarita!! Argh. How is that even possible?? I go in, find an
empty seat (not too difficult) and the waiter asked if he could get me anything. Sure, a margarita, I say. I mean, after all, isn’t that what you’re supposed to say on the fifth of May? He is sorry to inform me that no he cannot get me a beverage of the like, as the restaurant has not yet received their renewed liquor license, but I’m welcome to have some water or Coke®. Dude, that is so not very welcome!
Fortunately for me, I have all the required ingredients waiting at home to mark this very important day in history in the proper manner. :-) ~Jeff

It’s Kentucky Derby day! Hope everyone is taking a moment
to recognize the occasion. As for me, I’ll be headed to the local horsetrack for the festivities. And also to say goodbye to a good friend who will be moving out of state this weekend, which is the sad part of the day, of course.
In typical Seattle fashion, it is raining today, but that shouldn’t damper the mood too much. Although, Eight Belles being euthanized on the track after running second in the Derby was certainly a bummer.
Otherwise, a good day.

You know what I tried? Red Mango®. Ever heard of it? It’s supposed to be getting more and more popular as they open more locations all over the place.
Basically, it’s a simple non-fat frozen yogurt place. The frozen yogurt comes in two flavours - plain
and green tea. I tried the green tea flavour and it was yummy. It also costs a dollar more per each servings size (6oz, 8oz or 12oz). The plain variety costs $2.50 for small (6oz); $3.50 for 8oz and $4.50 for the large (12oz) size.
You can add toppings to mix in with your yogurt, such as fruit and stuff, but I think in the future I’ll stick to adding toppings only if I get the plain yogurt. I did try adding blueberries and banana slices to my green tea flavour, and while the fruit was amazingly fresh, it distracted from how good the green tea flavoured frozen yogurt really is.
Still, overall a good experience, glad I finally tried them. Which felt weird, since they are located one store away from Jamba Juice®, which I normally frequent on a regular basis - hope they didn’t see me sneaking by! ~Jeff

Okay, don’t get too excited, nothing much to report on. It’s the middle of the week, what did you think I’d be up to? Just work stuff and I won’t bore you with the details.
I think it’s finally tulip season around here - is it where you are?
All I know is, something is definitely up, because I’m starting to wake up with headaches again and I think that usually means it’s Flonase® time again. We’ll see if that does the trick, as I just remembered to renew my prescription recently - just in time, perhaps.
I also need to go pick up a new fish. It’s been almost ten years since I’ve gone longer than a week or two without at least one fish to keep me company. I’ll see if I have time to do that this weekend. :) ~Jeff
